"THE CLEANEST & MOST STERILE STUDIO IN NORTHERN NEW YORK"

CHOOSING A STUDIO

FIRST OF ALL .....  TO SET THE RECORD STRAIGHT:

Just because a studio is small and does not charge outrageous prices for their work, doesn't mean that they aren't any good.  A good Tattoo Artist (one whose ego isn't overinflated) isn't in this business just for the money and therefore realizes that you don't have to rape a customer's pocket book to make it worthwhile.  Don't think that you have to pay big bucks to get decent artwork.  Some Artists in this area would have you believe that if the price is low, the work will be lousy......but that's not necessarily the case.

Also, beware of what you hear in advertisements - there is NO SUCH THING as a Pain Free Tattoo (except for the childrens washable temporary tattoos).  Current sprays and ointments on the market used for for this purpose only last for a short time and once they wear off, the pain is worse than if you had never had it applied to begin with. In addition, some people are highly allergic to the contents used to make these "Medications" and many do not know they are allergic to them.  BEWARE!

With that said.......make your choice by doing the following:

1.  Visit your local Studios.  Your first impression is important.  Does the Studio look clean?  Does it present an atmosphere that you feel comfortable in?

2.  Are you greeted in a friendly manner or are you ignored?

3.  Is the staff helpful or do they put you off, acting like they are too busy (even when there are very few or no one around)?  Does the Staff and/or Artist try to help you in you choice of designs?  Do they readily answer questions?

4.  Ask Questions about their procedures, the needles/inks and supplies they use.  Is everything they use individually prepackaged?

5.  Check out photos of their previous works.  Get your own impression of what they have done before.  Don't just take their word for it.

6.  Look and listen .....  If all they do is BRAG about how good they are, how many awards they've won or who they were interviewed by:  These are Great Sales pitches but are they really as good as they try to make themselves out to be?  Or are they doing that to inflate the price?

7.  Ask about their pricing...... anything over a $40.00 minimum is getting a bit excessive, unless they are looking to get rich on your money.

*** KEEP IN MIND ***

There currently are no Health Regulations or Licensing Regulations governing Tattoo Studios in New York State.  No one in New York State Votes on how clean a Studio is.  Anyone who makes a claim that their studio was voted the cleanest in the area is making a FALSE Statement.  That makes you wonder how many other things they are telling you that are False.

THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS:

Use Common Sense and Good Judgement to pick a Studio.  Shop around and choose a Studio you are comfortable with, that does good work and that you can afford.  Don't make a decision based of the claims or sales pitches of a particular studio.
